Oakhaven Properties is the second chapter of a contracting business that's been quietly transforming Lower Mainland homes for over a decade.
Owner Cody Baines came up through the Kwantlen Polytechnic Carpentry program, then founded his company and spent ten-plus years building his trade. He took on every kind of residential project the Fraser Valley could throw at him — kitchen gut-jobs, multi-room renovations, additions, full custom builds — and built a reputation the only way it actually gets built: one referral at a time.
In 2024, he rebranded, becoming Oakhaven Properties — named for Cody's best friend, his dog Oakley. The name change reflected a sharper focus: high-end residential renovations and custom builds across Langley, Surrey, Abbotsford, and the surrounding Fraser Valley.
What Didn’t Change:
The work still goes through Cody's hands. He runs every job from quote to handoff.
Crews are small, vetted, and consistent. Subs are people we've worked with for years.
The standard is "would I do this in my own house?" If the answer is no, it doesn't ship.
What Did Change:
Tighter focus. We do kitchens, bathrooms, additions, secondary suites, whole-home renovations, and custom builds. That's it.
Better systems. Every project has a documented scope, a real timeline, and a single point of contact (Cody).
Designed-in transparency. You see what we see — costs, delays, decisions. No mystery line items.
Why hire a working contractor, not a sales-led firm.
A lot of the bigger names in Lower Mainland renovation are sales-led. You meet a polished closer, sign a contract, and then meet a different person who actually runs your job, usually a project manager who's running four or five jobs at once.
That's not how Oakhaven works. There's no sales layer between you and Cody. The person who walks your house, builds your quote, and runs the build is the same person, and he's the owner of the business.
The trade-off: we don't take 30 projects a year. We take the projects we can do right.
